Create a full-length outline of your Course Project (i.e. a map of what you plan to discuss in your paper). This means you need to choose between your two possible topics, (my topic: communication and emotions) do further research, and come up with a working thesis statement. Then create an outline of what you will cover in your paper and how you will support your thesis statement. Your outline should also include a list the sources you would like to use in your paper (remember you must have at least three sources in your paper). To create an outline:
Place your thesis statement at the beginning.
List the major points that support your thesis. Label them in Roman Numerals (I, II, III, etc.).
List supporting ideas or arguments for each major point. Label them in capital letters (A, B, C, etc.).
If applicable, continue to sub-divide each supporting idea until your outline is fully developed. Label them 1, 2, 3, etc., and then a, b, c, etc.

Models of Interpersonal Communication
The discussion assignment provides a forum for discussing relevant topics for this week based on the course competencies covered.
To support your work, use your course and text readings and also use the South University Online Library. As in all assignments, cite your sources in your work and provide references for the citations in APA format.
Start reviewing and responding to the postings of your classmates as early in the week as possible. Respond to at least two of your classmates’ initial postings. Participate in the discussion by asking a question, providing a statement of clarification, providing a point of view with a rationale, challenging an aspect of the discussion, or indicating a relationship between two or more lines of reasoning in the discussion. Models of Interpersonal Communication
In this assignment, you will apply the models of communication to a communication you have taken part in or have observed.
In this week’s reading, you will read about the following models of communication:

Using the South University Online Library, the Internet, and your text readings, research further on the aforementioned models of communication. Think about a recent conversation you have had or have observed and apply these models to that conversation.
On the basis of your research, understanding, and analysis of your conversation, respond to the following:
Briefly describe the conversation you have had or observed. If you are not comfortable discussing a conversation of your own, feel free to use a conversation from a television program or a movie you have recently viewed. What subject was being discussed? What was said? Provide a brief summary of the conversation.
Choose one of the three models of communication that most accurately fits the conversation. What did you learn about why the conversation was effective or ineffective by applying this communication model? Did the concepts of noise and feedback influence the conversation? How?
Now that you have used the models of communication to analyze the conversation, discuss how the conversation or how a future conversation could be more effective using the prescriptive suggestions and principles of competent communication.

As I assume the role of a manager, I want to work together as one collaborative team to meet goals and deadlines. I want to have a positive work environment that encourages innovation and promotes team. I am here to work alongside all of you to help meet these goals. Assuming the role of a manager, I will want fellow employees to know that my communication style will be explicit. I will set clear and concise expectations from not only them but from management. I will want everyone to understand that I have an open door policy and building trust among one another is very important to me. Any issues or problems that arise will be handled discreetly and with the utmost concern whether personal or professional. I will encourage a positive environment where people will feel comfortable knowing their voice matters. I will also ensure that people know when they are doing a good job and when there needs to be improvement. I will ensure monthly and/or quarterly meetings or tailgates are held to advise of any changes being made, making sure everyone is on the same page.
Communication is one of the most important things to me, especially being in a management role. All too often people feel left out of the loop and the moral in the environment can drop when management does not take the time to relay information, keeping everyone up to speed. Making expectations clear for both sides and upholding your side can drastically alter for the better the behavior of the employees. It may seem cliche, however, “Leading by example” could not be more true when in a management role. Leading with morals, integrity, hard work, communication, and building trust are truly keys to success within any organization.
